Moving in Faith
Moving in Faith: An Act of Hope
Worship Guide.
Moving can be an act of hope. Hope is choosing to believe that the future will in some meaningful way be better than the present and acting accordingly. Hope anchors our soul in the future.
Jeremiah lived at a time when the circumstances were certainly not hopeful. He was living in a war zone in a city under siege. God had given him clarity that the Israelites would live through 70 years of exile. He wasn't believed by most people around him that things would get worse before they got better.
In the midst of difficult circumstances with little that he could control, Jeremiah was told to act with hope. He made a very public purchase of a plot of land in a war zone and put the deeds in a clay jar that would last as a visible sign of hope for years to come.
Jeremiah could not control present circumstances, but choosing hope for the future was within his grasp.
So much of present circumstances around our move are out of our control, but choosing hope for the future is within our grasp. Choosing to act with hope is what we are doing with this move and capital campaign. From the beginning God has been at work in the storms - literally bringing the idea of a new congregation in a snow storm and now walking with us to move in a pandemic.
We will be praying for the next 5 weeks, "Lord, what do you want to do through me?" May we, like Jeremiah, listen for what it means in this time to act with a visible sign of hope for years to come.

Moving in Faith to our new building is an act of hope for the future. We believe in a future with hope, in God's provision, in the community impact God is calling us to, in God's power to change lives, and in the welcoming embrace of God in Jesus Christ for all people!
